$5.00 will buy a treated mosquito net in Tanzania Africa. We will purchase as many nets as needed and we will distribute them when we return to Tanzania. The need is beyond our realm of understanding. Weekly we talk to our friends in Tanzania and every week we hear of someone who contracts Malaria. Now imagine a child or adult already compromised with their health, contracting Malaria. Medicine is expensive and the majority of people cannot afford it. So what is the answer?

We know that a mosquito net can help – the mosquito that carries Malaria comes at night when a person sleeps – so if the net is covering that child or adult – a protection is in place.

We have met many who have had Malaria and have not lived. We have seen many who have suffered weeks and even months in constant pain. high fever and severe body aches.

This is something we are taking very seriously – we have distributed to hospitals and dispensary’s where people are already ill – the nets surely will help them. The need will never end – but we can continue to help and reach out to those who would never be able to buy a net.

Thanks for your consideration and help. You can make your donation on line through our website or mail your check to: Simple Hope PO Box 4 Menomonee Falls, WI 53052. Please note if your donation is to go to Malaria Campaign.

We are so excited you joined us here on our new website. We are constantly reminded of God’s grace and mercy on the work we have been asked to do – to serve the Least of the Least in Tanzania Africa. We continue to work on the projects to lift up those we are serving in Tanzania so they can become self sufficient and not lean on dependency of others. I know for myself, when I finally accomplished the skill of crocheting I was so lifted up. It was a simple skill but one that took me a while to learn. It really lifted me up – and I could now relate to how the mama’s of rural Mt. Meru felt when they learned how to preserve their food. There is so much more to teach them, but we have begun and that is the first step for us. Teaching the precious children at Matonyok Orphanage how to make clean water – another skill that has lifted them up. We will continue in the year ahead to teach any simple skills we can – so that those that think they can do nothing really are lifted out of that thought process. ENCOURAGEMENT is our goal for those we serve.

Blessings and Peace – Pam

They hunt small animals and birds, and eat berries and tubers as the mainstay of their diet. They essentially live an isolated existence from the rest of Tanzania. This life style will not be sustainable for them as people building permanent housing are encroaching on their land, chasing away the animals and reducing the area of edible plant life available. The government has identified this group as the most vulnerable and likely to parish if new sustainable measures are not introduced.

We are asked this question often. To be honest, we are answering the call that as placed on our hearts upon our travels to Tanzania. It is hard for most people to understand what a “call” is. As we have traveled to many remote places in Tanzania we saw needs larger than anything we have ever seen any place else. Our experiences of hugging and bringing hope to a leper community – knowing we were there for a purpose was one “call” that is vivid in our minds. Another memory was traveling for hours to reach a group of people untouched by society. Sitting with them, eating the berries off a tree, digging for tubers and listening to the wind blow – quiet – still – peaceful. Another was reaching a group of children at an orphanage – holding a 2 yr old boy who weighed only 13 pounds. Knowing we could send food to help – listening to the call – its all we did. We know we can’t change the world or even a small portion of Tanzania but if we dedicate our lives to reaching out – this is where God has placed us and this is where we will remain committed. YOUR help is our help..we can’t do it alone but we can make a difference with your hands and feet helping us.

I want to share with you a few facts about Tanzania!

Approx Miles from Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA to Arusha Tanzania 8021 miles (flying miles)
Average income earned: Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA $32,666 Tanzania $761.00
Size of Tanzania: The same as Texas and New Mexico joined together.
Population of Tanzania 2011: 44,841,226 (World Bank )
58% of Population is living on less than $1.00 per day.
Main Food: Ugali (Cornmeal boiled) maybe a bit of salt added if available.
Religion: 30% Christian 35% Muslim 35% Indigenous
Host to: Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Ngorogoro Crater, Zanzibar, Lake Victoria

Tanzania is a warm welcoming, safe country. We would love to offer you the opportunity to meet with us – your work place (Lunch and Learn), Girl/Boy Scout Troops, Community Groups, Churches, Schools. We have even had “skype” meetings around the world. We are happy to meet you wherever you live!

A Tanzania saying we love: Kidogo Kidogo Hujaza Kibaba (meaning slowly slowly it will come)
